This Private Fishing Adventure is based in Port Alfred and will be hosted by Ralph Kirsten. Taking you for a splendid 2 nights in a Houseboat on the Kowie River, fishing for Garrick, Kobeljou (Cape Salmon) and Grunter before finding our way back to the Port Alfred small boat harbour for 2 nights. Using the Halyards hotel as base we head for the Kowie river mouths West Pier where deep water is available and we target large open ocean predatory fish. Thereafter you will be picked up by boat at the Port Alfred Marina to head out for deepsea fishing in some of South Africa’s richest waters…

Exclusive Private houseboat Fishing Safari

With the Houseboat as our base and the use of a tender boat, we have all the ingredients for finding the fish and getting them to bite! Live-bait and lures are supplied and we target Garrick, Kob, grunter and sharks at night – You might even hook a Zambezi Shark!

Onboard catering leaving you to keep the lines wet!

With everything taken care of, you keep fishing while your onboard skipper and host will cook the meals with fresh produce…either your catch or failing that we have our backup plan of the fresh fish market, with a quick visit the local fresh fish market. Oysters and muscles are also in the mix, washed down with a bit of bubbles…waiting that for the big fish to take you for a ride

South Africa’s Sunshine Coast really is a hidden gem and with it being perfectly situated in Port Alfred just up the coast from Port Elizabeth it is the perfect fishing destination on its own or at the end of a Garden route tour…you cant go wrong!

Deepsea and Pier Fishing 

On our deepsea charter there is an abundance of fish to be caught and depending on the time of year you can expect excellent catches of Kobeljou and Geelbek as well as Copper and Black Steenbras…we really do pride ourselves on our catches in this part of the world!

Port Alfred West Pier

When the tide and conditions are right you can expect excellent catches of Kob, Garrick and massive sharks from Port Alfreds West Pier which gives you the perfect river mouth and estuary fishing location. Shad also present themselves seasonally and any good fisherman knows what it means when people go Shad fever crazy!
